Aims and activities of the organisation
The Centre for Curriculum Development and Examination (ISEC) is a public institution subordinated to the Latvian Ministry of Education and Science . ISEC employs 70 specialists. Main activities of ISEC are: to organize in-service training and professional development of school teachers and heads; to develop teachers’ in-service training projects, curriculum and methodology for the in-service training; to coordinate and to provide methodological support to the activities and development of in-service training in Latvia; to develop educational standards, teaching-learning programs and syllabi models; to organize development, approbation and improvement of the curriculum for basic and general secondary education; to organize and to develop national examination system; to provide consultation services to inform methodological and professional associations of teachers, administration of educational institutions, the regional boards of educational.

Role of the organisation in the project
ISEC will contribute to project management and to project monitoring and evaluation; will identify teachers and schools for training sessions, testing in class the materials produced, collecting information for comparative analysis, participate in dissemination of project results.
